Ilana is a curator, researcher and producer, living and working on Wadawurrung Country in Geelong. Her practice is mostly discursive, establishing forms of exchange between people working at intersections of public space through the model of labs, residencies and shared learning situations. 

From 2018 - 2025 she was the Artistic Director & Co-CEO of Platform Arts, a contemporary art space in Geelong. Projects included the national artist residency program Platform Lab (2020-2024), and the statewide Energetical symposium. Other major projects include Venetian Blind for the 58th International Venice Biennale with Deakin University’s Public Art Commission, and the inaugural Public Art Melbourne Biennial Lab for City of Melbourne.

Ilana is a sessional academic at RMIT, a peer reviewer for Creative Australia and a PhD candidate, supported by an RTP Stipend Scholarship, Monash University.
